the Prize

The New York prize
is the size, of all your dreams
Walk with pride
and indifference
Until it matters
The most
It is the cost
of living here
Amongst the valleys
of classic glass, of stone
and taxes and taxis
The maximum you could think of
Is what we are made of
The heat never lets up
Even at night
The sweat runs from the brow
The distance is now
The time is here.
